And I am a want-to-be writer. Some people create beautiful art with a paint brush, or clay, or wood. Some people quilt or knit, sew or scrapbook. I am a disaster at all of these things — crafty I so want to be, but crafty I am not.

But I love to create, to build something that, before my hard work and imagination, did not exist in the world. My way of doing this is through words, my random thoughts and passions captured for others to read.

Thus bringing me to this opportunity. I am thrilled and honored to be contributing to AnnArbor.com. I love being a part of such a brilliant city — a city that offers such inclusion and such a melting pot of spirits. The sense of loyalty and community here is unique and inspiring.

A little about me. I am a married mother of two children, ages 18 months and 3 1/2. Their pure spirits take my breath away, and I never imagined motherhood would feel this fulfilling. I also work full-time outside of the home, which has been a challenge, but I have almost completely found a way to balance both while parenting the way I want.

I have worked for Sprint for 10 years, and manage one of our retail stores here in Ann Arbor. I love my career and my company and now am thrilled to be branching out and finally listening to my talents. I will be writing about motherhood, marriage, the challenges of work/family balance and more.
