Shhh, don't tell anyone but I am a total "Survivor" junkie. I know my lasting in the game would be tough unless my mouth was sewn shut. I do know that I could make fire, find wild foods and possibly find other means to keep me going for a while however. Are you or your child a survivor? Could you make fire by various means?

On Saturday, you'll have the opportunity to learn to make a fire by hand with friction. I'm not encouraging you to develop a pyro in your household, but how cool would it be to learn a new skill that could be implemented if you ever got stuck somewhere?

The program takes place 10-11:30 a.m. at Country Farm Park at the Platt Road lot playground area. If you are interested, register quickly, free programs through Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation fill up quickly!
