Kids get a kick out of using sidewalk chalk. Stop at the Ypsilanti District Library 3-5 p.m. Friday for your own family sidewalk chalk fun!

I'm not sure what it is with kids and chalk. OK maybe it's just MY kids and chalk, however, they seem to be ecstatic with any opportunity to chalk our driveway with colorful flowers, rainbows and recently puzzle pieces. Of course I don't mind. It entertains them for hours and it washes away after a rain or whenever I want it gone. It's cheap entertainment for them and me!

Tomorrow at the Ypsilanti District Library starting at 3 p.m. and running until 5:00 p.m., kids, teens and even mom or dad can decorate the library sidewalks with chalk. Think of creating your favorite book cover, book character or just some colorful crazy artwork. The library will provide the chalk and the sidewalk.

While you are there, let the kids check out a book for their summer reading program!
