Beginning today through March 10, kids, entire families and local Peanuts fans can experience Snoopy as the WWI Flying Ace at the Ypsilanti District Library Whittaker Branch (5577 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti) in the community room. This free exhibition is great for the whole family and includes 40 of Snoopy’s boldest adventures in his transformed doghouse  now a Sopwith Camel airplane. Visitors to this exhibit can follow Snoopy on his imaginary adventures through the skies of Europe sparring with his archenemy, the Red Baron.

The library is also hosting a kids drawing contest to celebrate the Snoopy exhibit. Just put pencil (or ink) to paper with a cover sheet available for pick up at the youth desk. All entries are due by Saturday, Feb. 26.

And finally, as an added bonus, families can join a reception on Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 7-8 p.m. for family fun, to view the exhibit and enjoy some light refreshments.

Hours of the exhibit are Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday 1-5 p.m.

Organized by the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center, and toured by ExhibitsUSA, a national division of Mid-America Arts Alliance, a non-profit regional arts organization based in Kansas City, Mo. and The National Endowment for the Arts. A big thanks to the Friends of the Ypsilanti District Library for underwriting the cost of bringing this free exhibit to Ypsilanti. For more Information and details on this free program, stop by the youth desk or call (734) 482-4110 ext. 1303.

They should be playing The Royal Guardsman - Snoopy and His Friends in the background for inspiration.
