Many of the area schools have spring break earlier in April this year (April 4-8), so with break dates rapidly approaching, area parents are beginning to plan for the inevitable: what the kids will do during their spring break.

Following is a list of spring break camp programs in Ann Arbor for parents needing care for their kids when school is out.

Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts - Percussion Camps
April 4-8

Spring break camp participants will be placed in percussion ensembles and small groups for master classes according to age and level. Students will also participate in individual instruction and coached ensemble playing as well as perform one evening in the community and at the conclusion of the camp. This camp is geared for intermediate and advanced percussion students ages 12-18. Participants will expand their resources to further their percussion skills and be exposed to new music, instruments, and ways of thinking.

Spring Break Camp at Leslie Science and Nature Center
April 4-8, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Camp participants will take a week of walks in the woods, poking in the ponds, frolicking in the fields, filling your spring break with natural wonders. Other activities include outdoor games, survival skills and explorations on the wet and wild side.

Summers-Knoll spring break camp

Spring Fever hits Summers-Knoll again in 2011 with another great spring break program. Kids ages 4 1/2 - 12 will join in on outdoor activities to observe new life emerging exploring the wetlands and woodlands learning about the plants and animals living there. Take nets down to the creek, garden and study the crazy behavior of the weather. There might even be some baking, art projects and games.

Ypsilanti Township Parks and Recreation Busy Hands/Warm Hearts; Kids Give Back
- Spring Break Camp

April 4-8, 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Parents, are you looking for a spring break camp that your child will treasure and remember for a long time to come? During the camp kids will spend the week creating a storybook that will be given to the children at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Everything from the artwork needed for a photo backdrop to designing and making the costumes will be created. To top off this wonderful week, each child will receive their own copy of the finished storybook. Phone the Recreation Department at 544-3800 or register online for the Ypsilanti Township Parks and Recreation camp. The program will be held at the Community Center at 2025 E. Clark Road (between Ford Boulevard and Ridge Road, by Green Oaks Golf Course).

WideWorld Sports Spring Break Camps
April 4-8, 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

If indoor sports camps are your kids bag, then Worldwide Sports offer several half or full day camp options for spring break as well as after and before camp care. The all-sport camp includes an array of activities including soccer, flag football, basketball, volleyball, dodge ball, kickball and more.

Summer Kampers Break Camps

Although their website wasn't responding, the Summer Kampers site does appear to include spring break camps.
