Ypsilanti toddlers get free books until age 5
Introducing children ages 0-5 to books and reading fosters early school readers and a lifetime of loving books. Ypsilanti parents, don't forget to sign your child up to receive free books through the Imagination Library.

In early May, I was introduced to a program that would deliver monthly free books to children (ages 0-5) once a month until their 5th birthday through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The program was also highlighted in an article on AnnArbor.com. That being said, I wanted to remind Ypsilanti area parents to get their children registered to receive the books, specifically families residing in the 48197 or 48198 ZIP codes.
Think of it. A new, hardcover, age-appropriate book mailed to your home every month until your child reaches age 5. That means that by the time your child enters kindergarten they will have their own library of books.
"My girls love when these books arrive every month," said Jenny Kukiela of Ypsilanti, "some of them have even become family favorites!"
To sign up for the program call Sian Owen-Cruise at 734-994-8100 ext 1277 or email sowencruise@uwwashtenaw.org and include your child's name, date of birth and full mailing address.
