PatchWerk Dance Troupe, a "co-ed hip-hop crew" founded on Eastern Michigan University's campus, is scheduled to appear on BET's show "106 and Park" today (part of the show's Wild-Out Wednesday competition), July 11, at 6 p.m., and afterward, viewers will have the chance to vote for the group.

"106 and Park" is a music video countdown show, and the title stems from the original studio location at E. 106th St. and Park Avenue in New York City.

PatchWerk, according to its Facebook biography, "was founded by Willie Baker, LaMario Carson, Danielle Jones, Tanisha Maxwell, and Courtney Moore (in) September 2008. PatchWerk is a hip-hop dance troupe that was discovered on the campus of Eastern Michigan University, but consists of talented dancers from Eastern Michigan University, Washtenaw Community College, the University of Michigan and the Metro-Detroit area that are trained in various dance styles. PatchWerk strives to entertain and bring high-energy creativity and originality to any stage/dance floor they step foot on.

"The name PatchWerk was derived from our group’s differentiating dance backgrounds being "patched" together to create one vision."
