Good grief! On Saturday at 8 p.m., Eastern Michigan University's Student Center Auditorium (at 900 Oakwood Dr. in Ypsilanti) hosts one free performance of Bert V. Royal's "Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead," sponsored by EMU's LGBT Resource Center, in conjunction with U-M's Basement Arts.

The play asks the question: what would the "Peanuts" gang be like as adolescents? CB (Charlie Brown) is struggling with the death of his dog; his sister Sally has gone goth; Van (Linus), ever the philosopher, is now a pothead; Matt (Pig-Pen) is a pathological neat-freak whose dirtiness has been internalized; Beethoven (Schroeder) became the school outcast when everyone learned he was sexually abused by his father; Tricia York (Peppermint Patty) and Marcy are a pair of partying "mean girls"; and Van's sister (Lucy) has been institutionalized for setting the Little Red-Haired Girl's hair on fire.

The show is for mature audiences, as evidenced by this trailer for the show.
