GARDENING
The U-M Matthaei Botanical Gardens' "Exotic Plant Sale" ends today. During regular hours. The sale will feature a large selection of cacti, succulents, and bromeliads, including air plants and orchids, in sizes ranging from seedlings to mature plants. The VVA Chapter 310 Annual Pig Roast will be held at the VFW Graf-O’Hara Post 423. Noon-4 p.m. Enjoy a pork dinner with all the fixin's. Dawn Farm will hold its "39th Anniversary Jamboree." There will be activities for all ages, including live music all day by Noteworthy, hayrides, animals to pet, pony rides, lots of games and activities for children, a rock climbing wall, tours of the 74-acre farm and live and silent auctions and a gift table with a variety of donated goods and services. Not that you need any excuse to get out on the river, but today you can "Canoe for a Cause" at the Argo Canoe Livery. 1-6:30 p.m. Registration is between 1-2 p.m., on-site only. Canoeing will be between 2:30-4:30 p.m. The event benefits lung cancer research. Snacks will be provided by local businesses.
