"A Very Potter Sequel" will premiere on YouTube July 22 at 8 p.m.

Team Starkid — a production company largely composed of University of Michigan musical theater grads — has posted a new video to announce the online debut of its most recent venture, "A Very Potter Sequel," on Thursday, July 22 at 8 p.m. on YouTube.

Team Starkid became an internet sensation when it posted the entirety of its original, fan-made parody show, "A Very Potter Musical," on YouTube after the stage musical premiered as a Basement Arts production at U-M in April 2009. The collection of clips made Entertainment Weekly's Top Viral Video Countdown and were nominated for YouTube's Video of the Year.

The Team followed up with another original musical with an off-color title (which also went viral), and that show's cast recording, after being released on iTunes, landed high up on Billboard's original cast recording chart.

Not surprisingly, anticipation for the newest Team Starkid show, "A Very Potter Sequel," which played for one weekend at U-M in May, has been high and widespread, and details about the new show have been kept quiet so as to not ruin the surprise for fans.

Attendees at the Harry Potter symposium Infinitus, happening July 15-18 in Orlando, Florida, will be the next in line to see the show, but everyone will get the chance to watch online when "AVPS" hits YouTube July 22. Plus, the video promotes new Starkid merchandise, available only online through Ann Arbor T-shirt Company.
