Recap: Ann Arbor's Courtney Clark on TLC's "Ultimate Cake Off"
Courtney Clark, owner of Ann Arbor's popular Cake Nouveau shop on North Fourth Avenue and a veteran of several televised cake-making competitions, went up against two other contestants in an episode of the TLC channel cable show "Ultimate Cake Off" that first aired Monday night.
The judges were clearly impressed with Clark's performance throughout the competition, and at the end of the show it appeared to be a pretty easy decision to send her home with the $10,000 prize.
The theme of the episode was square dancing; the three contestants had to make a five-foot-tall cake for the 58th National Square Dance Convention in Long Beach, Calif. Clark's creation was the easy consensus choice of the judges, including both cooking pros and a representative from the convention.
As of this morning, the show's Web site had not yet been updated with fresh photos and info from the episode, but expect that to happen soon. And if you didn't see it, there are plenty of opportunities to catch up, including at 7 p.m. tonight.
