Saline Winterfest celebrates the best parts of the season

Last year was not kind to the Saline Winterfest. The lack of snow caused The Snowman Building Championship of the Free World to be canceled. But perhaps this year will be different. It is Michigan, after all. This year's Saline Winterfest will be held on Saturday.

Here is the schedule of activities:

9:00 a.m.: Ice carvings begin around downtown

9:30 - 11:30 a.m.: Kids Activities, games, face painting (in old Spotted Dog location)

11:30 a.m.: Mushing demo (at Henne Field)

Noon: Euchre tournament sponsored by the Chamber (in old Spotted Dog location)

Noon: Ice skating demo (at the ice rink at Henne Field)

1:00 - 3:00 p.m.: The Snowman Building Championship of the Free World (at Henne Field)

3:00 - 3:30 p.m.: Official snowman count

3:30 - 4:00 p.m.: Snowman decorating contest

4:00 - 4:30 p.m.: Decorating contest judging
