What's Bob Seger's best album?
By AnnArbor.com Staff
As excitement builds over three Bob Seger concerts this week at the Palace of Auburn Hills, it seems like a good time to reflect on the Ann Arbor-bred rocker's impressive recorded catalog.
Vote in the poll below, and add your reasons in a comment. (Note that we're purists around here; the two "Greatest Hits" compilations don't count.)

Unable to vote, also. Played all of Seger's music on the radio in Detroit...WXYZ, CKLW, Q95, etc. Was never that impressed, sorry to say. However, he IS a promoter for whatever it's worth...

Couldn't vote 'cause he never produced one. As someone described his music, "Music to build cars by"!

Could only vote for one! I'm partial to the two live albums with "Live Bullet" edging out "Nine Tonight". Might feel the opposite later . . .

Railroad days is Bob Seger's BEST SONG EVER. It is a shame so few know of it.

I love his acoustic album, Brand New Morning, if they have an Early Seger pt2 CD i hope "Railroad Days" is on it, a very good song that didn't get much airplay when it came out.

That 1975 thru 1978 was an unbelievably creative period for Bob Seger (or any singer/songwriter for that matter) and really made him into a superstar. Beautiful Loser, Live Bullet, Night Moves, and Stranger In Town were just loaded with great music. To this day, seeing him at Pine Knob in 1978 is my favorite concert of all time.

I'd have to say Live Bullet, although the best title for an album is Mongrel

I'm like most and partiall to his early work. But he really peaked in '75-'76 with his best work on Beautiful Loser, Live Bullet and Night Moves. When I saw The Rose and heard The Divine Miss M, Bette Midler select Main Street, Night Moves and Beautiful Loser for her film, I was in awe. At that point it became obvious that my AAHS classmate had made the big time and would no longer belong to just us. Superstar!
