Crowds at last summer's Shadow Art Fair.

The summer Shadow Art Fair, which has quickly become a favorite event in Ypsilanti, returns on July 16, and planning is under way.

The fair is now accepting applications from would-be vendors and designers of the event poster. Applications for both are due May 5.

The Shadow Art Fair — which started in the "shadow" of the Ann Arbor Art Fairs — bring a host of artists and do-it-yourselfers to the Corner Brewery, 720 Norris St. in Ypsilanti. This summer's event is set for noon-midnight Saturday, July 16.

The winner of the poster design contest receives $100.
