She & Him to play Hill Auditorium this summer

She & Him

She & Him, the musical pairing of actress Zooey Deschanel and guitarist Matt Ward, will play a concert at Hill Auditorium on Monday, July 1, event sponsor The Ark announced today.

Scottish pop band Camera Obscura will open the show.

Tickets, costing $35 and $45, go on sale via a presale on Thursday, and then go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday via the Michigan Union Ticket Office and Ticketmaster.com

She & Him has a catchy, relaxed acoustic pop sound. Although Deschanel is best known as an actress—she stars on the Fox sitcom "New Girl"—in the band she sings, writes, and plays piano and ukulele. Ward, also known as M. Ward, has enjoyed a successful indie-acoustic solo career and also has been part of Monsters of Folk.

She & Him has demonstrated some staying power, with two albums behind them and a third, "Volume 3," set for release in May.

I'm looking forward to their upcoming album and am pretty excited they'll be in Ann Arbor this summer! Adding this date to my list of possible concerts to attend.
