Staged readings of Brian Cox's 'Clutter' scheduled at Riverside Arts Center

By Jenn McKee

A new, Saline-based theater production company, called Around Here Productions—dedicated to encouraging Michigan playwrights who are just getting started—will present a staged reading of a script called “Clutter,” by Detroit Legal News editor Brian Cox.

According to a Saline Reporter article, Cox, who has a background in theater and was also once a reporter for Heritage Media, aimed to build Two Twelve Arts Center’s theater component, collaborating with TTAC director Margie Bovee. This led to the creation of Around Here Productions.

“Clutter” focuses on a man who’s revisiting key points in his life while cleaning out a messy desk, leading him to make a pivotal decision.

Staged readings of “Clutter” are scheduled for April 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. at the Riverside Arts Center, at 76 N. Huron St. in Ypsilanti, with an audience talkback after each performance. Tickets are $7 at the door, or $6 in advance (or for students and seniors). Reserve advance tickets by calling 734-944-ARTS (2787).
