I'm also wondering about the Ann Arbor/Washtenaw County wording. For most of them, I listed spots that are in Washtenaw County, since that's how it's stated. However, it also specifically asks for the "Best Ann Arbor Festival." Is that category specifically for Ann Arbor? Or could I have put down the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival even though it's in Ypsi? Confusing.

before voting for best vegetarian, you simply MUST try Cafe Ollie in Ypsi's Depot Town. I want to eat there every night, no lie.

Why do people have to be so critical all the time????? You people just make me crazy with your piddly comments!!!!!! there I said it. If you were so supportive of the newspapers, they would still be in business.

I wonder why it's called "Best of Ann Arbor", when it's supposedly about all of Washtenaw County. Seems a little prejudicial about the hinterlands....

Ms. Murray: Not so true. I am looking at Top Stores this moment (5/10/2010) and all but one are dated "yesterday" or May 9. Six of the stories are from bloggers or outside sources and three are from AnnArbor.com journalists.

What about best place for local news? Certainly not AnnArbor.com. The site is stale and boring. Each day is a repeat of the previous. Unless Rich Rod does something you don't seem to have much to say. You depend on bloggers and not journalists. Are you trying to do this on the cheap?? When will SOMEONE start a local paper back up?? Many of us will be right on board.

I also wonder where "Best Live Theatre" is. You feature all the other art spots (galleries, live music venues, museums, movie theaters, festivals). With such a vast and exceptional selection of professional, semi-professional, educational and community theatres in Ann Arbor, I'm surprised and saddened that you would overlook a genre that almost exclusively features, employs and accepts volunteers that are local to the area.

before you vote for best place for a hot dog, I suggest you try Bill's Hot dog stand on E michigan ave in Ypsi. It's the closest thing to the old A&W hot dog stand on W.Stadium [from day's gone by] you'll ever find.

I agree. Sidetrack for best burger - I don't know if they are allowing Ypsi spots.

no bookstores here have a large selection of magazines and the small ones are to niche filled. For being a university town we dont have many good ones unless your in to a niche.I dont care about coffee and scones in a bookstore.I just want a big selection and lots and lots of magazines. There is no good mexican food in this area. You have to go to detroit or Adrian. What about grocery store categories or upscale grocery category?
