My days as an unemployed person. First installment.

By Jordan Miller

Like many of you, I'm sure, I am currently without full-time employment. While I have freelance projects to get by, I am watching my meager savings dwindle while existing in a state of limbo. It's not quite vacation, because I would rather be working, but it still means I have an inordinate amount of time.

My response to all of this time has been to meander around town for at least half the day. Sometimes it's fruitful and I run into people who have work for me. But mostly I just drink caffeinated beverages, either alone or with others.

My new personal project is to make short videos of my experiences as an unemployed person. Today's video was shot at Jerusalem Garden with my friend T. Casey Brennan, a former comic book writer who may or may not have been trained as a child to assassinate John F. Kennedy, Jr. He is homeless, and very good at it.

Hmmm, although if I had fatter pockets I might be able to do more cool stuff. Catch 22!

I think this is a fabulous way to spend your "free" time. If you had a 9 to 5, then your pockets would be fatter, but you might miss out on moments like this. The grass is always greener! Can't wait to see more.

I started drinking alone years ago... coffee, that is. It's lead to some of my best blog posts and many successful last minute papers. Might not be a bad place to start.

If he sends you an e-mail, it includes a list of links to articles about him that's around 7 inches long. He's his own personal wiki.
