Kyle: "Hi everyone! My name is Kyle, and I'll be blogging for The Deuce."

Everyone: "Hi Kyle."

Kyle: "Thanks everyone."

Allow me to introduce myself, my blog, and what I'll be talking about in it (for now at least). First and foremost, my name is Kyle Stuef. Currently, I work as the Creative Director for an Ann Arbor based branding and web development company, TWENTY-NINE 11 STUDIOS. I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, where I attained my BBA in Marketing, with a concentration in Advertising. After jumping from marketing job (Ann Arbor Radio) to marketing job (Independent Consultant), I landed at my current job and have been fortunate enough to entrench myself firmly in the area's web/tech/marketing minded group of young talent along the way.

This brings me to my first blog focus: Being a young professional in the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti / Metro-Detroit area. Who is the best young talent? What do they do? Where do they meet? How can you get in touch with them? Is there a secret handshake?

As a resident of Ypsilanti for the past 5 years, I have been lucky enough to live in a town on an upswing. I have seen the city grow in the areas of art, music, dining, culture and just about anything else that you can name. I am extremely proud to tell people that I am from Ypsilanti, and let people know that I am part of the generation of young professionals who are working to keep it moving in the right direction for years to come.

This brings me to my next blog focus: Being a proud proponent of the Ypsilanti community. What is happening in the community? What ideas do I have to improve things? How packed was Sidetrack last night for Happy Hour?

Also, I'm definitely a tech geek. Seeing as how I work on websites all day, and am hopelessly addicted to anything that people would classify as "social media," and can be seen around downtown on most days with my laptop strapped across my back, it only makes sense to those who know me that there will be a big focus on technology, gadgets and whatever the latest internet trend is.

The final, and what will perhaps become the biggest, focus of my blog: Tech / Gadget / Internet Trends.

My initial plans are to keep a schedule that follow this road map:

  • Posts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Monday's focus will be the "Monday Geek Out" - A weekly post to feature the cool piece of technology, application, software, or anything else that I have been drooling over for the past week. I will let my inner geek out. It won't always be pretty, but the stuff should normally be pretty cool.
  • Wednesday and Friday will be a grab bag. Some Ypsi things, some interviews with local movers and shakers, some features on things that I have done or seen, or some event focused posts where I talk about a networking event, conference or something of that sort.

So, I hope that you read. I hope that you comment. I hope that you send me some ideas about things that you think should be featured. And also, while you're at it, please take the time to read my fellow bloggers for The Deuce : Jordan Miller, Alisa Lee, and Jennifer Eberbach (I'm sure there will be more of us as this thing grows)

I'll be talking to you soon.
