The Dirty Birds take flight with new CD, tour with Charlene Kaye
But after three months in the recording studio, the trio emerged with their first-ever studio album, "How The Cause Became The Cure." With hook-laden songwriting, bright vocal harmonies, and lush orchestrations, the Saturday release date comes just in time to provide musical accompaniment for a long summer drive.
To celebrate its release, The Dirty Birds perform on Saturday at Vitosha Guest Haus Inn (1917 Washtenaw), featuring a crew of guest musicians to help fully realize the band's rich arrangements in a live setting, and Charlene Kaye kicks off the festivities with her stripped-down indie-folk. Come for the $10 admission that includes a copy of 'The Cause,' and stay because it's the last local gig for both performers before they relocate to New York City. Music starts at 9:00.
Parking at Vitosha is limited, so attendees can also park at the First Church of Christ, Scientist (1833 Washtenaw), and The Dirty Birds singer/multi-instrumentalist Jared Saltiel is offering help arranging rides to the show by emailing jared.saltiel@gmail.com.
