The New Theatre Project has extended the run of its final production, JC Lee's "Pookie Goes Grenading." Additional performances are now scheduled for May 3-5 at 8 p.m., at Ypsilanti's Mix Studio Theatre (130 W. Michigan Ave.), and the special closing night company celebration will happen May 5. Advance tickets are recommended.

The following press release contains additional information:

Pookie and her teenage gang of high school misfits are determined to make their movie a reality - even if it takes blowing up police stations, burning down their auditorium and kidnapping their guidance counselor to make it happen. Once they become the center of a national terrorist manhunt, there’s no telling how far they’ll go in the name of art. "Pookie Goes Grenading" is directed by Associate Artistic Director Emilie C. Samuelsen and features Ensemble members Luna Alexander, Chris Jakob, and Emily Roll. Additional cast members include Dan Johnson and Artun Kircali. "Pookie" features designs by Keith Paul Medelis, sound design by Eben Mannes, and video design by Colin Fulton.
