The New Theatre Project announces the addition of "If You Start a Fire [Be Prepared to Burn]"—an Internet sex comedy for the Recession Generation by Kevin Kautzman—to the lineup of its second season. Lucy and Chris are typical American twenty-somethings struggling to survive the Great Recession with their dignity intact. They hate their jobs like most everybody else, but they need the insurance, and at least they have each other. When Chris loses his job, he convinces Lucy they should launch a boutique sex website and sell the idea of her as an all-American girl next door, somehow both pure and hedonistic at the same time. "If You Start a Fire" will be directed by Nati Salgado and feature Peter Giessl and TNTP ensemble member Elise Randall. A pay-what-you-can preview performance will take place Sunday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. "Fire" will officially open on Feb. 17 and play through March 4, with performances taking place Friday-Sunday at 8 p.m.

Admission is $15. Students, seniors, and industry priced tickets are $10. All performances take place at the Mix Studio Theater, 130 W. Michigan Ave. at the corner of Washington and Michigan in Ypsilanti. The entrance is through Mix, which will be open prior to all performances.
