By Jenny Serwach

There’s a lot of excitement to be had at the Ann Arbor Art Fairs. On Thursday, we went to all four art fairs asking people what they liked best about the annual event.

“It’s my first time here but I think the people here are really nice and welcoming and that’s my favorite thing here.” — Cristina Abraho, 28, Brazil.

"I've been seriously playing the guitar for four months, but it’s nice to be able to hang out here and play for everyone, it’s good practice time.” — Nathan Blade, 21, Alpena.

“My favorite thing is definitely the nonprofit section, I just became a vegan and I was able to pick up a lot of information on it and everyone was really friendly.” — Katherine Zurek, 20, Grosse Pointe.

State Street Area Art Fair

“The sculptures are definitely my favorite thing, I really like the water fountain.” — Sahar Webster, 19, Ann Arbor.

“I liked the sculptures that look like real people and I definitely like the art, I come here every year.” — Hassan Elsiban, 14, Dearborn.

“I’m a glassblower, so I like to see everyone else’s glass and art. I like that people are pretty friendly to me even though I’m from Ohio and we have a football rivalry.” — William Ortman, 26, Columbus, Ohio.

"I like the shopping, my friends and and I have been doing a lot of looking, we’re scoping out the sights today because if we buy something we like today we’ll just walk a few feet and find something we like better.” — Carolyn Hasselwood, 66, New Baltimore.

Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, the Original

“I love the creativity and the crowds and the variety of the art. It brings a vibrancy to the town.” — Nancy Merdzinski, 53, Ann Arbor.

I love how how our town is transformed into this beautiful and crazy world of creative art. It's energizing and, yes, exhausting - but I look forward to it each and every year.
