Best Bets: Time travel with Rave and Quality 16 movie theaters and play with lasers at the Ann Arbor District Library this week

From the time flies department: The "Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary Event" will be held at Quality 16 and Rave movie theaters on Monday. 7 p.m. This event will feature two of the most popular Next Generation episodes: Ep. 106, “Where No One Has Gone Before,” and Ep. 114, “Datalore.” $11.50. Another great event at Quality 16 and Rave movie theaters happens on Tuesday: "The Who: Quadrophenia- Can You See The Real Me?' The Story Behind the Album." 8 p.m. Beginning with a special welcome message from lead guitarist Pete Townshend, the documentary takes fans on a riveting ride back to the 1970s, when The Who’s creative musical genius was taking the world music stage by storm. Get in on the cool "Maker Works Craftshop: LED Lit, Laser-Engraved Plaques" at the Ann Arbor District Library on Tuesday 7-8:30 p.m. What could could be cooler than playing with lasers and LEDs? The staff of Maker Works will lead this geeky craft workshop and discuss the basics of laser engraving and LEDs. Maybe some of the bravest will even get to do some soldering! Take in some hot zydeco for a sultry summer night with Buckwheat Zydeco at the Ark on Thursday. 8 p.m. Buckwheat Zydeco has taken this red-hot hybrid from the Louisiana swamps into rock arenas, to two presidential inaugurations, and to the Super Bowl halftime show.
