Tonight at Top of the Park - Saturday, June 29: Latin dance music, become a 'Superhero,' and more

Here's the schedule for tonight's Top of the Park, the free (donations welcome), outdoor component of the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. Descriptions provided by the festival. Top of the Park takes place in the area around East Washington Street at Ingalls Mall, except as noted.

5 p.m.: KidZone: Ann Arbor Art Center - KidZone Tent
Superhero recruits must decide on a superhero name and then create their own cape or mask from the Art Center’s super secret agency supplies.

5 p.m.: Retreat: West African Dance with World Dance Workout - Power Center Lawn
Dance to West African and world beats in this fast paced and fun class led by Sandy Pierani of World Dance Workout.

5 p.m.: Olivia Millerschin - Grove Stage
Rochester Hills’ Olivia Millerschin is inspired by simple but catchy songs and mixes pop, jazz, soul, and folk in the vein of Ingrid Michaelson and Corrine Bailey Rae.

6 p.m.: Diana Lawrence; Grove Stage
Singer-songwriter and pianist Diana Lawrence draws on styles as wide-ranging as pop, blues, folk, jazz, and cabaret.

7 p.m.: Joe Summers Gypsy Jazz - Rackham Stage
With two guitars and an upright acoustic bass, Joe Summers Gypsy Jazz Trio delivers beautifully improvised jazz reverent of the ’20s and ’30s that is punctuated by energetic, tight melodies and strong beats.

8 p.m. Snap Judgment - Power Center
The program’s raw, intimate, and musical brand of storytelling dares listeners to see a sliver of the world through another’s eye.

8 p.m.: Tumbao Bravo - Rackham Stage
Ann Arbor’s Tumbao Bravo is a Latin jazz combo that brings the rhythms of Cuba to life with congas, timbales, sax, flute, trumpet, keyboard, and bass.

9:30 p.m.: Orquesta RITMO - Rackham Stage
The Latin dance party continues as headliners Orquesta RITMO take to Rackham Stage to spread their love for the electrifying genre of Latin music.

9:45 p.m.: Superhero - South Ingalls Mall
A digital art exhibition at Top of the Park over multiple nights, festival-goers will be able to fly over the historic facade of the Burton Memorial Tower while enjoying a number of super powers, which they can control with natural gestures.

11 p.m.: After Dark w/ DJ Chill Will - Grove Stage
Come hear a Hip Hop and Break Beat set by Ann Arbor-based DJ Chill Will.
