Last week, Allied Marketing teamed up with University of Michigan film group M-Flicks to organize an advance screening of the comedy "Take Me Home Tonight," starring Topher Grace and Anna Faris, at the Michigan Theater's 200-seat screening room on Tuesday.

Why was this local film event so noteworthy? Because Grace — who also wrote the story and worked as executive producer — appeared in person with co-star Demetri Martin.

According to M-Flicks president Bhanu Chundu, the group publcized the event by e-mail, Facebook, and the undergraduate film department email list. The event was open to the public, but unless you were a student, you needed a pass.

Martin and Grace talked about "Take Me Home Tonight" at the Michigan Theater.

"Both Topher Grace and Demetri Martin stuck around to introduce the movie, do a Q&A at the end, and take group pictures with M-Flicks," said Chundu via e-mail. "The Q&A mostly revolved around the challenges of the production, as well as getting into the industry (especially for post grads). Both of them also talked about the challenges of life post-college graduation (since the protagonist had just graduated himself)."

"Take Me Home Tonight" is set in the 1980s and tells the story of an aimless college grad (played by Grace) who pursues his dream girl at a wild Labor Day Weekend party.

According to the movie's Internet Movie DataBase page, the film is slated for a March 4 release. Check out the trailer below.
