Townie Street Party seeks work from young artists
The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair is calling on young artists ages 6-14 from Washtenaw County to submit their artwork to be juried for the 2010 Kids’ Art Fair, held at the Townie Street Party - the kick-off event for the 2010 Ann Arbor Art Fairs
As detailed in a press release, "The Kids’ Art Fair is a unique opportunity for young artists to sell their original artwork and interact with the community at the Townie Street Party. In addition, this is a great chance for young artists to see the jury process at work and to interact with nationally recognized art jurors. The young artists receive individual attention by each juror and the positive feedback is often very empowering." Jurying will take place at the Ann Arbor District Library’s Pittsfield Branch, Sunday, May 23 from 1-4 p.m. and Thursday, May 27 from 5-8 p.m. Artists ages 6-14 should arrive with samples of their original artwork and be prepared to talk to jurors. Artists only need to attend one of the two sessions. Young artists invited to exhibit at the Kids’ Art Fair, will be notified by email or phone the week following the second jury session. These artists will be able to sell their work under a large tent at the Townie Street Party, slated for July 19, 5:00-9:30 p.m. on North University Avenue near Ingalls Mall. The Ann Arbor District Library, Pittsfield Branch is located at 2359 Oak Valley Drive in Ann Arbor. For more information on this event call 734-994-5260 or visit www.artfair.org
