U-M grads and musical theater songwriting team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul may not have won a Tony Award on Sunday night for their nominated original score for "A Christmas Story: The Musical," but they've got some exciting new projects in the works, according to Playbill.com.

Michael Grief, who directed the landmark contemporary musicals "Rent" and "Next to Normal," will direct Pasek and Paul's new, as-yet-untitled original musical.

"It's an idea that we've had since college, and we're finally getting a chance to write it," Paul told Playbill.com.

The team is working with playwright Steven Levenson.

Pasek and Paul also have plans to "musicalize" a Disney property.
