University Bank announced today that a matching-donation drive to benefit the Firefly Club is about halfway to its goal.

The bank said its Rescue the Firefly account has $880 in donations toward its $1,800 goal. If that level is reached, the bank will match the amount. If state officials agree, the $3,600 would be used to get the club back on track with back taxes owed.

The club was shut down and seized last week over tax issues.
