Updates on 3 films partly shot in Ann Arbor: 'Scream 4,' 'Meet Monica Velour,' and 'Appleville'
Some behind-the-scenes video of the "Scream 4" shoot in Ann Arbor last summer recently surfaced online, including this short clip that shows star Neve Campbell running around the roof of a Burns Park house's front porch.
A few more clips, which feature scenes shot inside the same Burns Park house, can be viewed at www.shocktillyoudrop.com — but be warned. The clips contain potential spoilers, as well as some mature language.
Meanwhile, the Kim Cattrall film "Meet Monica Velour," featuring some scenes shot at a barn on Joy Rd., near Dixboro, is supposedly slated for an April 8 release, but no word on where it will open, nor how wide the release will be. Stay tuned.
An early Hollywood Reporter review of the movie isn't a rave, but offers praise. Here's the trailer.
Finally, "Appleville," a short film that marked a collaboration between film students at the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and Michigan State University, and that was largely filmed at U-M's North Campus Research Complex (formerly Pfizer), will have its premiere at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Detroit Film Theatre. Admission is free.
