By AnnArbor.com Freelance Journalist

The Washtenaw Community Concert Band, formerly known as the Ypsilanti Community Band, welcomes musicians of all ages who play a concert band instrument well enough to contribute to the band's programming.

Especially needed are clarinet, French horn, and tuba players. No formal audition is required. The 70-member band is in its 33rd year and is conducted by Jerry Robbins.

Upcoming concerts include "Women in Music" Feb. 17 and "Grand Finale!" on April 28. Rehearsals for the winter period start Tuesday, January 4, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Whitmore Lake High School. Visit the band's website at www.ypsicommband.org for a complete listing of rehearsal and concert dates as well as new member information, or call 734-252-9221.
