What did you think of locally shot 'Stone'?
Robert De Niro, left, and Edward Norton in "Stone."
"Stone," the prison drama that shot some scenes in Washtenaw County last year, finally opened here at the Quality 16 multiplex on Friday, following a limited release elsewhere around the country.
Critical reaction to "Stone" has been mixed. But what did you think? And how does it compare to the other major movies shot in the area? Vote in our polls and/or leave a comment below. And for more on "Stone," check out our Mega-Guide to the movie.
And, since the list of movies shot locally just keeps growing, let's ask this question one more time:

I think it was shot using the mi tax credit to reduce production costs. However the producers spent their budget on talent and then phased out the lower level pa positions and made people work for free as interns. I am all for creating a new industry in Michigan, but movies shoot from the backs of semi-trucks, the infastructure we here about building will not make productions stay in MI without a taxbreak. The films that have filmed in MI have used out of town talent for almost every position, and if you want to work in the film industry, generally you have to be a member of a union. IATSE. The film industry requires long hours and some general knowledge of the movies to fill such positions as art director, property director and lead man/buyer (Set decorating), however producers still fly in californians to perform even minor roles such as on-call painter (yes that is right no one in michigan is qualified to sit on their ass all day just in case the movie needs something needed) This is direclty linked to one of the main benefits we here about the movies; the amount of hotel rooms that they rent in the area. The reason they rent so many hotels is to house the out of town workforce. (there is also a presumption that the michigan film crews are not qualified to work on these movies) I feel bad for the citizens of michigan trying to make it in this field I like the idea, but it does not work plain and simple
