Summer music series Sonic Lunch offers free weekly concerts in Liberty Park, but the goodies don't end there. The event — sponsored in part by Bank of Ann Arbor — is giving away a prize package that includes a t-shirt, restaurant gift certificate, and framed poster. To enter, become a fan of Sonic Lunch on Facebook and complete the entry form. Complete contest details and rules are available here. The deadline for entry is August 7.

Still ahead in Sonic Lunch's schedule this summer are performances by Dragon Wagon, The Macpodz, The Ragbirds, Jamie Register & The Glendales, Shout Sister Shout: Steppin' In It, and Jill Jack.

I know the feeling! :) But to tie this in with the post topic, I encourage you to check out the concerts if you can. The Macpodz do a unique, really fun jazz-dance fusion, and I'm always glad to see Jamie Register take center stage, especially since she hasn't been with NOMO for a little while now.

OK. Makes sense to me. Still learning what's what around here.

My intent was that it's an announcement. I thought it was a cool contest, so I posted it. The concerts are free and open to the public, but I thought it was appropriate to mention the event's corporate sponsor, which is a local business. Conversely, I didn't mention the brand names of the prizes because it's not relevant. The entry also provided the opportunity to quickly mention some local/regional bands coming to town.
