"Wine, Women and Song" returning to Kerrytown Concert House

By AnnArbor.com Staff

It's proven a popular combination down through the ages, and Kerrytown Concert House has found it works pretty well there, too. So this weekend brings the return engagement of "Wine, Women and Song," an annual event that delivers exactly what it promises.

Set for three performances this weekend, "Wine, Women and Song" features an all-female cast of local singers doing their thing with a wide range of cabaret, jazz and classical songs. And yes, concertgoers enjoy a nice glass of the grape (included in the admission price) along with the music. Not surprisingly, it all makes for a relaxed, enjoyable evening.

Wendy Bloom is the creator director of the event, which has become a Kerrytown Concert House tradition: This year will be the eighth edition of "Wine, Women and Song." In addition to Bloom, the roster of singers includes Sue Booth, Carolyn Burnstein, Shelley MacMillan, Jane Schoonmaker-Rodgers, Jennifer Hilbish Schuetz, Beth Major, Sylvia Pittman, Deanna Relyea, Susan Shipman and Monica Swartout-Bebow. Jerry DePuit is music director and pianist.

Listen to a selection of songs from last year's Wine, Women and Song:

Tickets are $15, $20 and $30. Shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and for 4 p.m. Sunday.
