In the 1990s, Grant-Lee Phillips was known as the voice and vision behind the critically acclaimed band Grant Lee Buffalo. He's made a transition from the aggressive guitar stomp and the often political lyrics he favored with that band, but some things haven't changed: Grant-Lee still matches gorgeous, powerful lyrics to agile 12-string guitar playing.
Recording for the Rounder label, he's recorded albums ranging from the dreamy "Mobilize" to the country-ish (or Springsteen-esque) "Virginia Creeper." His latest release, "Little Moon," is a stark, sparse album of great beauty.
