Preview story from AnnArbor.com
Former Kinks front man Ray Davies has lined up a late-winter run of US dates to back his latest studio project, a set that reworks some of his old band's material with backing from a full symphonic choir.

On the road, the singer/songwriter continues to support November's "The Kinks Choral Collection," a reworking of songs handpicked from Davies' extensive repertoire, arranged and performed by his band and the Crouch End Festival Chorus in two UK studios.

The idea for the album came in 2007 when Davies worked alongside choirmaster David Temple and an 80-piece choir for his "Flatlands" piece, a commission from the Norfolk and Norwich Festival. After reuniting last summer for two festival performances, the pair headed to the studio to create the choral collection.
