The voice of Alabama songstress Shelby Lynne is an addictive thing, whether applied to classic or contemporary country, pop, R&B, or any other style she's favored since coming on the scene in Nashville in the 1980s. Shelby has sung with bands of various kinds, and at her last Ark show she performed songs from her album of covers by soul legend Dusty Springfield. Now she's back with something completely different.
Shelby's new album, "Tears, Lies and Alibis," was entirely written and produced by the singer herself, and it's being released on her own new label, Everso. Shelby is backing the album with an all-acoustic show that puts her amazing voice front and center.
London, England's Findlay Brown, who offers what he calls "melodramatic popular song," opens the program.
