Volunteers from the Ann Arbor Church of Christ distributed 100 Thanksgiving turkeys and Thanksgiving dinner groceries at the church’s annual Thanksgiving food giveaway program on Sunday, Nov. 21.

With a church building located just a mile from Michigan Stadium, the congregation parks cars for University of Michigan home football games and uses the money raised for benevolence projects.

This year, the football parking money will also be used to provide Christmas presents for several families. Families were identified through the Department of Social Services and several nonprofit agencies. Families received letters inviting them to come to the church, located at 2500 S. Main St. (between Busch’s and Briarwood Mall) and “shop” for their own Thanksgiving dinners, free of charge.
