The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist are withdrawing plans to purchase the John Paul II Cultural Center in Washington, D.C., according to the Catholic News Agency.

The rapidly growing Roman Catholic convent in Ann Arbor Township signed an agreement last October to investigate purchasing the cultural center for a House of Studies.

In a March 3 open letter, Mother Assumpta Long said that "the Sisters discerned that to pursue this endeavor was not a prudent use of our limited resources,” according to the article. Instead of moving to D.C., the sisters are now moving forward with plans to establish priories in California and Texas.
