University of Michigan's Chabad House helps you be a SOUPer friend
If you have a friend who is under the weather and could use some TLC, the Chabad House at the University of Michigan is offering a helping hand.
The group has a "SOUPer friend" program on its Web site where you can send Chabad House the name and address of your friend and a volunteer will deliver homemade soup straight to your friend's front door. They even accommodate vegetarians.
As the Web site states:
"One of Judaism's greatest mitzvot (good deed) is to assist a sick person. Do your part in being a good friend and perform a mitzvah (at the same time) to present your “under the weather” friend with a bowl of chicken soup delivered right to his or her door!
This service is a volunteer-based program and is brought to you free of charge.
He or she will receive a fresh bowl of home-made soup (just like Mom's) delivered to his or her door with a note attached saying its from YOU and to feel better!"
