Fit Mommy: Another year older, but what is your "real age?"

Here's my Mii, on the Wii, but just a few years younger than my actual age...

Shhh...it is actually my birthday today. But this blog isn't about that (really!)...

I am actually writing to talk about your "real age!" Have you done a test where you figure out your real age based on data? I did this on my Wii Fit Plus yesterday. My real age was younger than my actual, so if I lie about my age today, I am not really lying, right?

A few years ago, I went on realage.com and had my age calculated there as well, based on fitness stats, weight, height and emotional wellness. Realage asks all sorts of statistical questions about your health and family history (all confidential of course) and then calculates how much older or younger you really are.

I updated my age today, just to see how I am doing. I had to admit about some of my not so good habits (I need to floss more and remember my vitamins) and great habits as well (I like to exercise).

If you get good or bad news about your age, I hope it at least motivates you to start making small healthy changes today.

Grab a few extra servings of fruit and try to resist that afternoon vending machine habit. Take a few minutes to stretch between phone calls. Walk for 10 minutes instead of driving around the parking lot.

These small changes all increase your odds of living longer!

Oh, and if you ask me today, my real age is 24!
