You cut back on salt. Why your diet might still increase your blood pressure

Here's a look at some of the top health news being talked about around the U.S. and the world today:

• Sugar has been linked to a person's risk of high blood pressure, according to new research reported on by Reuters. A new study linked diets with high-sugar foods and drinks, specifically from fructose used to sweeten processed foods like beverages and baked goods, as contributors to higher blood pressure.

• Scientists say they've found a series of markers in the human genome that can predict who might live to extreme old age with 77 percent accuracy.

• Scientists have been able to make cells similar to human embryonic stem cells from frozen blood samples, it was reported by Reuters.
