It's the last day for AnnArbor.com's 'Deck the House' home decorating contest - send your photos in today
‘Tis the season for inflatable snowmen, dolled up pine trees and rooftops lined with glowing, mechanical reindeer! Do you or your neighbors decorate for the holiday season? If so, send us a photo and enter AnnArbor.com’s “Deck the House” holiday decorating contest.
Through Dec. 20, we’ll post the photos in our online Home & Garden section at AnnArbor.com/Home-Garden. During the week of Dec. 21, log in to AnnArbor.com and cast your vote for the house you think is decorated the best. The winner will be featured in a photo and story that will run online and in the Sunday print edition of AnnArbor.com. Email your photos to community@annarbor.com. Be sure to include the homeowner’s name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
If you don't have a photo to share but know where a nicely decorated home is, let us know. Our lead blogger Edward Vielmetti is compiling a map showing where some of the most well-decorated homes in our area are, so you can drive around and take a look.

Stephen J. Schewe decorates his 1903 house at 428 Spring with a simple system of roping, lights, bows, and a wreath for 20 years. "Coming home at 5:30 in December, it is dark... so I feel that adding a few bright lights and cheeriness help neighbors feel uplifted on their walks," Schewe wrote in an e-mail.

I think that all the four houses should be in the paper to let people know that this is what you would like to accomplish next year. I think that would be fair for this year. And by the way the house at miller/chapin was owned by Jack Garris attorney. He had a nice showing! Happy Holidays! Mike and Doreen Burns House #2

Many years ago the house on the southwest corner of Miller and I believe it is Chapin St. had very festive attire for the season. Does anyone happen to know what family lived there at the time?...and by any chance, whether photos exist? :-)! Thanks, and Merry Christmas!!!

Anyone know some AA neighborhoods that really do it up? I have such fond childhood memories of cruising the lights during the holidays, but do not know where to find them here.

I've driven by that one on Textile and Lohr. I got out and had a look last year. Music, even.

There's a house on the corner of Lohr and Textile that is a must to observe. That place has so many lights on it, I'd be surprised if it didn't cause any automobile accidents.
