Last month we asked you to tell us about your garden, and we received many beautiful photos and stories about creative gardens around town.

Dale and Susan Scherger's garden is entry #10 to our Summer Garden Contest. Click below this story in the "More Info" section to check out previous entries.

The Schergers write:

"Attached are two photos showing part of our backyard flower garden. It is 68' by 28' and has over 50 perennials, several shrubs and a few grasses along with a sprinkling of annuals. This is the ninth summer we have had this yard and it is reaching its maturity even though we tinker with it every spring. We also have a very large stand of bamboo 21' by 7' that is two stories tall in the side yard not shown in the photos. Our yard is in the Orchard Hills neighborhood of northeast Ann Arbor and just happens to be situated so that it is not visible from the street or by most of our neighbors. We would like to share our Michigan perennial garden with your readers."
