Welcome to week 4 of our Summer Garden Contest--a "fun run for gardeners," as described by one reader. Last month we asked you to tell us about your garden, and we received many beautiful photos and stories about creative gardens around town.

Laurie Gendron submitted entry #18 on behalf of the Cultivating Community garden to our Summer Garden Contest. Click below this story in the "More Info" section to check out previous entries.

"There's a garden behind my office at the Ginsberg Center called Cultivating Community that I find quite amazing. I've watched the students create it from scratch and eventually became involved. It's convenient for me as I use their compost pile since I have no yard of my own. They have rain barrels, veggies, flowers and an herb spiral. This group does a lot of workshops too. I'd like to vote for them, please choose from the attached pix."

After we've showcased all the gardens that were submitted, we'll post a poll and let you vote on your favorite. The garden with the most votes at the close of the poll will be featured in an upcoming story in the print edition of AnnArbor.com.
