Local crafters Christy Howden and Rebecca Cornell, co-owners of TaDaa! Studio, are getting a nice business boost on the busiest shopping day of the year this Friday.

One of their signature products, a complete kit to make a rosette wool felt pillow, will be featured on the HGTV Network's new show, 15 Fresh Handmade Gift Ideas. In the one-hour show, hosts Taniya Nayak and Michele Beschen share handmade creative gift ideas, and Howden and Cornell's rosette pillow kit was selected.

TaDaa! Studio is web-based business featuring "hip sewing supplies for diy." According to the website, Howden and Cornell "love to make things but do not have the time to plan, purchase, and prep all the materials, the skills to make things that are high quality and stylish and the space in our homes to keep it all sitting out."

So they created a resource to help busy people keep their creative juices flowing. The online store carries stylish fabrics and patterns and pre-assembled craft project kits.

How did they come up with a name like "TaDaa!"? The owners explain on the website:

"After we finish a project, we love the 'Tadaa!' moment when we are proud of what we've made. We started TaDaa! so that we could pass that feeling along to you. Happy creating!"

The show will air on HGTV at 7 p.m. on Nov. 26 and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 3.

Howden, who is a Community Contributor for AnnArbor.com, will also offer the pillow making class locally at Two Twelve Art Center in Saline on Jan. 20. Additional classes are available by special request for groups of four or more.
