Quick tips to prepare for next year's garden
Even though you might be buried in fresh tomatoes and whale-sized squash, it's time to think about preparing next year's garden to make sure you enjoy the bounty next year.
Cydney Steeb, Master Gardener Coordinator at the Michigan State University Extension service, has prepared a tip sheet of steps to take now to prepare the soil, avoid plant diseases, protect trees and shrubs and much more.
The tip sheet includes quick information on:
- Preparing the soil
- Assessing what worked or didn't work well this year
- Clean up, tilling (or not) and adding organic material
