Deck the House showcase: Whose decorations do you like best? Vote for your favorite

By Pam Stout

It's time to vote for your favorite(s) in our Deck the House virtual showcase!

A couple of weeks ago we asked you to share photos of your holiday decor with us, and readers came through with descriptions of their festive flair. We saw winter wonderlands with colorful lights, polar bears and a virtual Santa outdoors. Indoors we saw collections of life-size Santas and bears along with festive greens.

We also heard some touching stories: a grandmother decorating for her sick grandchild and a proud owner of her hard-earned Habitat for Humanity home.

Now it's time to choose your favorite(s) in our Deck the House showcase. The winner with the most votes will be featured in an upcoming story in the print edition of AnnArbor.com.

Here's how it works:

1) Watch the slideshow of the entries above.

2) Go to Deck the House virtual showcase to read all of the descriptions, or click the titles in the "more info" section below.

3) Vote for your favorites in the poll below, and share it with friends!

4) Add a comment about your favorite decorations.

We'll keep the poll open until Dec. 24, and the home with the most votes will be featured in AnnArbor.com's print edition.

These homes are marked on our Holiday Lights Map, so you can also check them out in person.

Thank you for joining in the fun. We enjoyed seeing these beautiful places and we hope you did, too.

Ms Towner, Im not sure what I am being accused of by Admin Paper but I have not been on line. After getting home from church this evening Ive been resting still not felling well from yesterdays ER visit. This morning when I looked at the tallies the numbers were much smaller. It appears there definitely is some improper voting going on for both of us for the numbers to go so high so quickly. This certainly is not in the spirit of Christmas or ethical. My friends will tell you I am a very ethical person. I will thank who every was trying to help me out but I ask to please stop the ballot stuffing as I am withdrawing from the contest. Im sure you heat was in the right place as you know what Ive been through but please give it to this little girl. I have already lost two dear people in my life this year and lets hope this little girl does well in her treatment. No one needs any more sorrow. Thank you my friend for calling me and telling me what you saw what was going online.

Mr. Hall, If this contest is so important to you that you would act this way. I will bow out. This contest was submitted by my grand child before she entered the hospital for leukemia. This contest has given her something to talk about during her illness. She suggested that I put the decorations up before she was hospitalized. We all now what you are doing. We have played this contest fair. So in the spirit of giving and Christmas we both give this contest to you as the winner. Merry Christmas and God Bless You. Samantha and Jasmine.

Hello everyone this is Randy, first I would like to thank everyone who has voted for my display, especially the good folks at the University of Michigan Emergency Room and radiology MRI departments, after spending a several hours with them yesterday/night you learn the true meaning of Christmas. 2010 hasnt been the best year for the Hall family. We lost our Step mother in March and then my brother in July. Putting up this display and seeing the cars go by and watching Santa has been a true joy for me. Tonight I will be giving Santa, the glitzy lights, and music a break and play the 1999 Patrick Stewart version of a Christmas Carol in the window. No worries its just for one night and Santa will be back for a bit longer till the first part of the New Year. Merry Christmas Everyone and I do hope for a much better 2011 for everyone especially in this Michigan economy. Many of our fellow Michiganders are really hurting out there.

I'm honored that my house was considered (#3) but I voted for Randy. You just can't beat Santa Claus waving out the window! My decorations are mostly for my children and I. We live on a dead end street so not many people drive by. :) Merry Christmas Everyone!

I have placed my vote for Samantha Towler. Ms. Towler put her heart into decorating this year for her grand daughter Jasmine. Jasmine is at the U of M Cancer Center today getting her first transfusion for the battle of leukemia, and has many hard weeks ahead of her. Being in the hospital at the holiday time must be very hard on the family. Please vote for Jasmine's Grandmother's home for Jasmine. We greatly appreciate the U of M Cancer Center team for their hard work...Please do something so simple to make a child happy this season of giving and miracles..Vote for Jasmine.

What a great thing for two people to do for all the children even when they have none of their own. God bless them for keeping the spirit of Christmas a happy time.
