Michigan DE Frank Clark misses Nebraska game with injury
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Michigan will be without defensive end Frank Clark for the second time this season.
Clark, who has started three games this year and factors heavily into the rotation on the weak side, did not travel to Lincoln for the Wolverines' game Saturday night against Nebraska.
A Michigan spokesman said Clark's absence is injury related, but did not offer details. ESPN reported the sophomore sat out with an ankle injury.
Clark also missed the season opener against Alabama due to a one-game suspension stemming from an offseason home invasion arrest. Sophomore Brennen Beyer started that game.
Clark has had moments of brilliance this year, but his play has tapered in recent games and he lost the hold on the starting job the past two weeks to Beyer, who was expected to start against Nebraska.
True freshman Mario Ojemudia was expected to absorb Clark's reserve snaps.
Clark has three tackles for loss this season, third on the team and first among defensive linemen. He also has a team-high three pass breakups.
