Wolverine talk: Is Fitz Toussaint ready to break out? Join the Michigan-Illinois conversation
ANN ARBOR -- Basically the only negative to be taken away from the Michigan football team's dominant 44-13 win at Purdue last week was the absence of rushing yards from junior Fitz Toussaint.
Toussaint continued his early-season struggles against the Boilermakers, picking up just 19 yards on 17 carries while quarterback Denard Robinson sprinted for 235 on the ground.
Michigan coach Brady Hoke has give a lot of credit to Purdue this week for Toussaint's struggles, and says he's not ready to start splitting carries between his incumbent starter and sophomore bruiser Thomas Rawls.
We'll find out how everything pans out Saturday when No. 25 Michigan hosts Illinois (3:30 p.m., ABC).
In the meantime, let's discuss. Are you comfortable with Toussaint? Can Michigan move to 2-0 in the Big Ten? Will the Wolverines be looking beyond the Illini to Michigan State next week?
MLive.com Wolverines writers Kyle Meinke and Nick Baumgardner will be here to take your questions at noon. Ask a question or give a take in the comment section below and Kyle and Nick will respond with their thoughts on the subject as Michigan preps for Illinois.
